Try These Fun Activities at Home

Welcome back! :) I'm writing today to share some of the most fun activities I've done so far while I'm staying at home and practicing social distancing. Whether you're staying home alone, with your family, or your significant other, everyone from couples to kids can partake in lots of these activities, so give it a shot! Let's jump into it!

  • Play an online game with friends: Evil Apples, Words with Friends (click here to read my blog post about these two apps!)

  • Learn how to dance: We've been using YouTube to learn new Two-Stepping moves, because we are big country music fans and love to two-step when we get the chance. I think that it would be so fun for you and your other half, sister, brother, or whoever, to learn some new moves from people on YouTube, that way when all of this is over, you'll have so much to show off :) Even better, there's literally no pressure because it's just y'all at home, no one to watch or make you feel embarrassed! Now is the best time to learn some new moves whether it be Salsa lessons or even just the Tik Tok dances!

  • Ancestry Kits: order one today and test it out to learn more about your heritage! (click here to read my blog post about DNA testing kits)

  • Garden: It's so easy to get started making a little garden at home! Whether you have indoor house plants or veggies outside, there's something for everybody. You can choose the most low-maintenance plants or test out your green thumb! The options are endless, and for me personally, I feel so rewarded by harvesting my peppers in the backyard! This will take a little research to figure out what plants would be best for you, but I think it's a great way to spend your time. Also, there are many supplies at the Dollar Tree that are super helpful (& affordable) to use in your garden!

  • Puzzles: We all love a good old fashioned jigsaw, so pull one out & hop to it! It's a great bonding activity too, and it really helps to pass the time!

  • Redecorate: try switching things up a bit around the house. It's good to get some new scenery in and change your perspective of that room or wall.

  • Start a new project: Whether is be a painting or making something with your own hands, get to work and get creative! You can also tackle some of your goals or work on doing something around the house that you might have been avoiding for a long time!

  • Read a new book: You can do this alone or with someone! Reading together has been really fun for my boyfriend and I, and sparks lots of interesting conversation. We still love watching shows and movies on TV, but there's something a little different about opening a book. This is the best time to catch up on all your latest recommendations, too!

  • Online Thrifting: I usually re-sell a lot of clothes throughout the year to local shops, but unfortunately we can't do that right now. I've utilized the Curtsy App & Poshmark to get my fix while being at home. You should try it, too! Use this time to clear out your closet a bit and make room for all the new trends coming, or purchase some that you find! Or, por que no los dos? You decide :)

  • Pick up a new hobby: the tennis courts are the only thing open here so we're trying it out! But you could also try gardening at home, cooking new things with ingredients leftover in your pantry, learn how to sew, or try learning more about how to use that expensive camera you got over the holidays! Look around your room/house and see what comes to mind.

  • Learn a new language: The Duolingo app is awesome for this! I think it's a fun way for couples to bond and learn together, plus maybe you could entice yourself by the opportunity to travel to one of the locations where that language is spoken *hehe*

  • Try an at home workout routine: There are tons on YouTube and Pinterest, or join Pure Barre to get access to virtual classes with your membership! Click here to read my Pure Barre Testimony. I think this would be fun alone or grab a partner and get to work.

  • Try playing new games: we've been loving Bananagrams lately (like Scrabble, but a more quick and interactive game!) There's also classic card games, Jenga, and who knows what else in the back of your closet!

  • Have a double date or hangout with your friends on Zoom: this is a fun way to still see your friends while practicing social distancing, it makes it a little easier to avoid feeling lonesome, too!

Have fun testing some of these out!!

Xoxo, Tiffany
